As a prep cook, your primary responsibility is to prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables and butchery of proteins. You will undertake basic cooking techniques as needed.
Other primary responsibilities include:
- Follow standard procedures and best practices to ensure the meticulous cleanliness of the kitchen, server, and three dining venues
- Collaborate in preparing established by the Culinary Director
- Perform routine kitchen tasks, following the prep/production list created by management
- Set up workstations and stock ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes
- Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
- Label all ingredients prepared so they can be used in cooking
- Follow standard procedures and best practices to maintain regulatory compliance with all applicable agencies on all matters related to food service and safety
- Ensuring residents experience an excellent culinary experience with foods that are, in turn, interesting, surprising, unique, comforting, traditional and reminiscent of their own life experiences
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience being part of a culinary team
- ServSafe food handling certification, preferred
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle tools, such as knife techniques for chopping, slicing, cutting and dicing
- Experience interacting with and deeply relating to seniors
- Exceptional written and Verbal communication skills are necessary

- Ability to work Wednesday - Sunday, 10am - 6pm
