The Specialty Equipment segment includes Anderson Dahlen, located in Ramsey, MN, and Waconia, MN. Anderson Dahlen delivers end-to-end equipment design-build and contract manufacturing, with precision fabrication – cutting, forming, machining, welding, finishing, and complex assemblies – backed by engineering, integration, and complete process solutions including skids and sanitary platforms tailored to customer applications. Anderson Dahlen is ISO 9001:2015 certified, as well as ASME, AWS, and PED compliant.
The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105-$150/annually.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Machine Shop Manager leads Milling and Turning operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and compliance objectives. This role develops team capability, drives performance, and ensures consistent execution of processes that support business and customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate labor, equipment, and resources to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and financial objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency, machine utilization, and overall department performance.
- Evaluate and recommend capital equipment, tooling, and process improvements that strengthen long-term operational capability, advance automation through modern technology, improve agility, reduce lead times, and maximize throughput while optimizing staffing requirements in a low-volume, high-variability environment.
- Lead Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve production, scheduling, and delivery issues.
- Support execution of project requirements, schedules, and customer expectations, and resolve issues, mitigate risks, and drive performance.
- Oversee work quality, machine setup, and the use of precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance with specifications and established standards.
- Promote a strong safety mindset culture and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and the development of direct reports and team members, fostering a challenging and rewarding work environment that builds a highly capable, accountable, and world-class team.
- A highly engaged production team member who fosters cross-functional collaboration to support company strategy, leverage advanced technology, and optimize productivity while upholding quality and safety standards.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least five years in manufacturing or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of machining, inspection, saw operations, GD&T, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and production planning and scheduling.
- Knowledge of company products or comparable precision manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated judgment, initiative, and accountability in complex operating environments.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interpret data, make sound business decisions, and apply mathematical concepts, including geometry and trigonometry.
