Position summary
Finish the boot: heel nail, edge trim, seal, ink, and inspect to the cosmetic standard.
Essential functions
- Operate your assigned station: heel nailing, edge trimming, sealing, inking, or inspection and tacking.
- Match the finish to the approved sample. Verify color and sheen across the pair before release.
- Trim, burnish and dress the edge to the profile without cutting into the welt.
- Pull and flag any pair with a cosmetic defect, a proud nail, a trim gouge or a color mismatch.
- Maintain finish materials: stir, thin and store to specification, and log lot numbers.
- Keep the booth, the gun and your station clean. A dirty gun is a color defect waiting to happen.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications
- No prior experience required at grade P2. We will train you to the station.
- A steady hand and color judgment.
- Willingness to work with solvents and finishing chemicals and to wear the protective equipment required.
Physical requirements and work environment
This position works on the production floor. Standing for the full shift on a concrete floor. Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds; frequent lifting up to 20 pounds. Repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms. Exposure to leather dust, adhesive vapor and machine noise. Hearing protection, eye protection and steel-toe footwear are required. Reasonable accommodation is available to qualified individuals with disabilities. This position involves routine exposure to adhesives, solvents and finishing chemicals. Respirator fit-testing and chemical-handling training are provided and required.

Pairs per shift against the standard for your station. Cosmetic first-pass quality. Finish defects reaching Packing.
