About the Role

Description

Position summary

Keep the plant clean, safe and ready for inspection at any hour.


Essential functions

  • Clean production floors, aisles, restrooms, break areas and offices on a daily schedule.
  • Remove leather scrap, trim waste and general refuse. Segregate anything the environmental permits require to be segregated.
  • Keep aisles, exits, eyewash stations and fire equipment clear and accessible at all times.
  • Maintain the cleaning supply inventory. Store chemicals according to the safety data sheets.
  • Report any spill, leak, blocked exit or unsafe condition to Maintenance immediately.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • No prior experience required. We train you on site.
  • Able to follow a chemical handling and safety data sheet protocol.
  • Reliable attendance. This job is judged on whether the building is clean and safe when the first shift walks in.

Physical requirements and work environment

Standing, walking, bending. Lifting up to 40 pounds. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and to plant hazards. Reasonable accommodation is available to qualified individuals with disabilities.


How performance is measured

Housekeeping audit results. Blocked exits or obstructed safety equipment.
