Responsible to: Maria Center Executive Director
Job Summary: Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) is responsible for all resident program and activity services while ensuring quality service, dignity and respect are given to each resident. Together with MC co-workers, assists with the overall tasks that are required for daily operations.
- Work closely with the Maria Center Executive Director, Resident Support Coordinator, and MC Business Office Accountant to ensure an ethical, private, safe, and community environment is maintained for all residents and their families.
- Plans and coordinates programs and group activities for residents, reviews feedback and adapts programs and activities as needs and interests change. Invites and reminds residents of planned activities.
- Maintains MC video messaging board.
- Meets with each resident to identify individual programs and activities of interest with the residents.
- Assists Executive Director to ensure new residents are welcomed and oriented to Maria Center and the Center at Donaldson environment.
- Leads and participates in required meetings.
- Shares concerns, insights, problems, or changes to appropriate team members.
- Assists with maintaining information in the Buildium system. This includes resident, work order and apartment information.
- Maintains working, proficient knowledge in all systems used by Maria Center. This includes Buildium, archives, pendants, lockers, messaging boards, security badges, and fire extinguishers.
- Reports all instances where there may be a question of abuse or neglect and takes proactive steps to protect residents.
- Answers phone and directs calls as appropriate based on resident requests and needs.
- Responsible for the orderliness and cleanliness of Maria Center office, common areas and storage areas.
- Coordinates annual top to bottom apartment cleaning and schedules with Environmental Services Manager and residents.
- Collaborates with ADS Hospitality Services and assists Support Services Coordinator as needed with resident meals, transportation, housekeeping, SASS (safety and support), and facilities.
- Assists Executive Director with clerical duties, meeting with new inquiries (when needed), touring inquiries as needed, managing Facebook site with current activities and pictures, completing monthly newsletter.
- Creates activities while maintaining a budget.
- Reaches out/develop connection to local community for relevant activities to place on calendar.
- Assists Executive Director with marketing efforts.
- Assists with maintaining a resource directory and phone directory for residents.
- Participates in professional organizations and training opportunities to maintain a current working knowledge of Aging in Place and senior housing offerings.
- Works a flexible schedule to meet program and activity needs.
SPECIFICATIONS
Prior Education and Training:
- Associate Arts degree and/or Social work degree preferred.
Prior Work Experience/Skills Required:
- Previous experience working in an activity-related position with an elderly population and/or specialized training in this area is preferred.
- Previous experience in management preferred.
- Computer proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Publisher and email/web programs required.
On-the-Job Training/Orientation Required:
- Orientation to PHJC Ministries, PHJCs values, mission and vision, Maria Center vision and mission and new co-worker orientation.
- Maria Center, Inc. orientation and ongoing work-related in-services.
- Orientation to current personnel policies and procedures in human resources programs.
- CPR/AED certified
Other Position Requirements:
- Ability to relate and communicate well with others.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make independent judgments.
- Occasional travel by automobile is required.
- Punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

Category I – Possible Emergency situations: Tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue. Requires the use of protective equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Position requires physical dexterity and auditory and visual acuity to relate to and interact with residents.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to ambulate quickly and easily use stairs to respond to resident emergency pendants.
