About the Role

Description

Position summary

Repair and maintain production machinery and building systems so the line does not stop.


Essential functions

  • Execute the preventive maintenance schedule. Log every task, every part and every finding.
  • Respond to line-down calls and get the machine running again.
  • Perform mechanical repair, adjustment, alignment and lubrication on stitching, lasting, bottoming and finishing equipment.
  • Support building systems: air, dust collection, ventilation, lighting and electrical.
  • Follow and enforce lockout/tagout on every job, without exception.
  • Flag any machine trending toward failure before it fails.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • Three or more years in industrial maintenance or an equivalent trade.
  • Mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Able to read a schematic and a parts diagram.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with industrial sewing machines, presses or legacy manufacturing equipment.
  • Welding or fabrication capability.

Physical requirements and work environment

Full plant access. Lifting up to 50 pounds. Ladder and elevated work. Exposure to the full range of plant hazards. Reasonable accommodation is available to qualified individuals with disabilities.


How performance is measured

Mean time to repair. Preventive maintenance completion rate. Lockout/tagout compliance.
