Lasting Supervisor

Position summary
Own the shape of the boot. Run the pulling-over, toe, side and heel lasting sequence, and control the last inventory so it never gates the schedule.
Essential functions
- Sequence work across pulling-over, toe lasting, side lasting and heel seat lasting.
- Set machine parameters for last shape, upper material and style. Verify against the master sample.
- Control the last inventory: count, condition, size run availability, and the pull-and-return cycle.
- Inspect lasted uppers for symmetry, toe spring, heel seat fit and wrinkling. Reject and rework before Bottoming, not after.
- Manage the heat and setting cycle so the shape holds once the last is pulled.
- Train and certify lasters. Maintain the department skill matrix.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications
- Five or more years lasting footwear, hands-on across the full lasting sequence.
- Able to set and troubleshoot lasting machines and to trace a shape defect back to its cause.
- Able to manage a last inventory against a live production schedule.
Physical requirements and work environment
This position works on the production floor. Standing for the full shift on a concrete floor. Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds; frequent lifting up to 20 pounds. Repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms. Exposure to leather dust, adhesive vapor and machine noise. Hearing protection, eye protection and steel-toe footwear are required. How performance is measured
Pairs lasted per shift. Shape defects released to Bottoming. Whether last availability ever gates the schedule.
