About the Role

The Manager – Annual Campaign leads Friends of Youth’s annual philanthropy program and is responsible for developing and managing year-round strategies to grow individual giving, donor retention, recurring giving, and donor engagement.

The Manager leads multi-channel annual campaigns, monitors performance, and uses donor data to support fundraising growth. As a core member of the Development Team, this role collaborates with Marketing and Communication, Grants, Special Events, Programs, Finance, and Development leadership while supporting accurate donor data and campaign reporting in Raiser’s Edge.

 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt  Salary

Union Status: Non-union

Rate of Pay: $80,169–$99,626

essential duties 

Administration Tasks 

  1. Maintain accurate donor, gift, campaign, and contact information in Raiser’s Edge.
  2. Coordinate timely gift acknowledgments, receipts, donor statements, and pledge documentation.
  3. Track and report on annual giving revenue, campaign performance, donor retention, and other key fundraising metrics.
  4. Partner with Finance on bi-weekly reconciliation of gifts, pledges, sponsorships, and campaign revenue.
  5. Monitor and project revenue for assigned campaigns and donor segments.
  6. Use Raiser’s Edge to support donor segmentation, lapsed donor outreach, recurring giving, and major gift prospect identification.
  7. Support ongoing database cleanup and data quality efforts.


Development Tasks 

  1. Develop, manage, and execute a comprehensive annual philanthropy plan designed to grow individual giving, donor retention, recurring giving, and overall annual revenue.
  2. Lead multi-channel annual campaigns, including email, direct mail, digital, social media, and web-based fundraising efforts.
  3. Manage the annual campaign calendar, appeal development, donor segmentation, campaign tracking, acknowledgments, and performance reporting.
  4. Monitor campaign progress and donor trends, adjusting strategies as needed to meet annual fundraising goals.
  5. Develop strategies to renew current donors, reactivate lapsed donors, convert first-time and event donors into repeat supporters, and identify donors for deeper engagement.
  6. Partner with the Director of Philanthropy, CEO, Marketing and Communication, and other teams to develop effective solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship materials.
  7. Support major campaigns, special events, impact reporting, and other Development initiatives as needed, with emphasis on donor engagement and follow-up.


Communication Tasks 

  1. Maintain regular communication and information sharing with Development, Marketing and Communication, Grants, Special Events, Programs, Finance, and other departments to support coordinated fundraising and donor engagement efforts.
  2. Partner with Marketing and Communication on campaign messaging, donor communications, digital fundraising, and stewardship content.
  3. Collaborate with Grants and Special Events staff on donor strategy, campaign coordination, sponsorship follow-up, reporting, and stewardship opportunities.
  4. Build strong relationships across the organization to gather program impact information, client outcomes, and stories that support appeals, proposals, donor communications, and stewardship.
  5. Represent Friends of Youth at community activities, donor meetings, and events as appropriate.
  6. Stay informed of fundraising trends, annual giving best practices, donor engagement strategies and relevant tools through ongoing learning and professional development.

job requirements 

a. Education and Experience 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a human-service or business-related field preferred. In place of a degree, a high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience can be substituted. 
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fundraising and development capacity. 
  3. Experience utilizing donor databases and online fundraising tools. Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred. 
  4. Demonstrated working knowledge of MS365 Power Platform. 


b. Additional Requirements 

  1. Must satisfactorily pass criminal history check. 
  2. Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test. 
  3. Must have reliable transportation and a valid Washington State driver's license (or be able to obtain one by date of employment). 
  4. Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of Youth vehicles on Friends of Youth business, must have a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth. 
  5. Employees and volunteers who operate their own vehicle(s) on Friends of Youth business must carry auto liability insurance that complies with the requirements of Friends of Youth.

  7. Able and willing to travel to multiple local sites and other locations in personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided). 
  8. Proficient skill set with MS Office Suite programs.
