Role Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst & Parametric Estimator to support the Independent Cost Evaluation (ICE) team and the Bid Centre. The ICE team provides independent cost and risk analysis for bids/ proposals and major programmes. The Bid Centre is a centralised team that provide support and governance to help strengthen the robustness of bids. This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical professional who enjoys transforming complex data into actionable insights and developing data-driven estimating solutions that support strategic business decisions.
Core Duties:
- Gather, cleanse and analyse historical cost, technical and programme data to identify trends, correlations and cost drivers
- Create dashboards, reports and visualisation to communicate insights effectively
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through the application of analytics and automation and reduce the reliance on excel
- Collaborate with engineering and the bid teams to gather the data required to develop, maintain and improve parametric estimating models (SEER) (Training to be provided)
- Opportunity to become Parametric Estimating lead for the site to ensure consistency of use across the Product Lines and build the capability for the site
- Business Modelling when required
Essential Skills:
- Experience of data analysis and data visualisation tools and developing automated reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, data manipulation and modelling
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills in of defence, aerospace, engineering or manufacturing environments
- Ability to work accurately, methodically and adaptably on large and complex datasets
- Qualification or equivalent experience in finance, math's, science, engineering, IT, cost estimating or business would be advantageous
- Experience with SQL, Python, AI or other analytical tools
