What You’ll Do
The Network Specialist is a senior technical individual contributor responsible for delivering specialised network solution, service design, and feasibility activities across Telstra International networks and off‑net networks. The role undertakes complex feasibility assessments, provides expert technical advice to sales, planning, and delivery teams, and ensures network solutions align with strategic, commercial, and operational objectives. The Network Specialist plays a key role in mentoring peers, validating design assumptions, identifying innovation opportunities, and improving network processes and tooling to uplift solution quality, delivery certainty, and efficiency. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and works closely with internal stakeholders across Service Provisioning, Capacity Planning, Transmission Engineering, Solution Architecture, Service Delivery, Field Services and key vendor partners.
In addition, the role is accountable for end‑to‑end feasibility lifecycle management, including order and feasibility tracker updates, coordination of off‑net and vendor‑dependent capacity assessments, Capex task initiation, and ongoing engagement with strategic suppliers. Regular operational responsibilities include participating in capacity and feasibility governance forums, managing vendor trackers and pre‑sync/sync calls, solutions development, and driving continuous process improvement through cross‑functional collaboration. The Network Specialist ensures timely response to escalations, supports complex order scenarios and maintains strong working relationships across regions and technology domains to enable successful service delivery outcomes.
About You
Strong understanding of EPL, IPL services, international transmission networks, optical transport technologies, and off-net connectivity solutions.
Extensive experience in telecommunications transmission services and planning, capacity management, service design, and service provisioning.
Proven experience conducting complex network feasibility assessments and developing customer-focused network solutions.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical, commercial, and operational teams.
Experience working with external carriers, suppliers, and vendor ecosystems.
Excellent problem-solving, and informed decision capabilities.
Ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
