KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Software Solutions Engineer, you are accountable for:
- Designing, Coding, Testing, Integration and Documentation of allocated software tasks
- Debugging problems in existing code and develop better implementations.
- Targeting design and documentation towards portability and reusability
- Supporting software deployment on operational platforms.
- Liaising with colleagues to implement technical designs
- Developing software to meet customer requirements including design, reuse, development, integration and verification
- Specifying, designing, coding and unit testing software components in line with functional requirements
- Assembling the software components in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behaviour, interactions and performance
- Participating in the specification of the functions and interfaces of products to be developed
- Ensuring the timely delivery of software releases in support of the integration and test program
- Participating in technical reviews, workshops, peer reviews and project reviews as appropriate for the program
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
- A tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant qualification.
- Experience of developing software in a commercial environment, ideally working across multiple software components or teams
- Understanding of the total life cycle of software development, including processes and responsibilities at each stage in the cycle
- Knowledge of software estimation, design, development and unit testing
- Understanding of configuration management tools and continuous build environment
- Exposure to large scale or distributed systems would be beneficial
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
GOOD TO KNOW
Prior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks. Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain Baseline security clearance.

The U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
