KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Software Engineering Work Package Manager, you are accountable for:
- Planning the Design, Coding, Testing, Integration and Documentation of allocated software tasks
- Management of milestone delivery and reporting
- Task estimation
- Weekly reporting of project status to Project Management
- Achieving project SW milestones/goals within approved budgets.
- Ensuring that software engineering activities undertaken are conducted in accordance with relevant Thales Quality Assurance standards and procedures using appropriate software tools.
- Lead in developing Agile and Lean development practices for software development
- Undertake critical Software Architectural Design and Software Component reviews.
- Liaising with Customers to discuss new software tasks and assist in creation of Operational Analysis Documents.
- Ensuring adequate preliminary testing is done on all software tasks before being integrated, ensuring minimal problems occur at a later stage of the software life cycle.
- Investigating and using new technologies where relevant
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
- Task and Schedule Management of a Software Team: 3+ years
- Various Software Methodologies (Waterfall, Agile etc) : 3+ years
- Programming languages (C, C++, Java, JavaFX): 2+ years
- Design using UML: 2+ years
- Documentation of SDD, SRS, STDs etc : 2+ years.
- System Engineering lifecycle experience in Defence/commercial areas
- Experience with continuous build, integration and test software development
- environments
- Experience with working in Linux and Windows
- Experience in integrating large projects desirable
- Experience in Open systems.
- Fast Learner and able to apply the skills quickly
- High level planning and time-management skills.
- Ability to write clear, concise documents containing technical detail.
GOOD TO KNOW
