Circuit of The Americas is a world-class motorsports and entertainment venue in Texas, located nine miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and less than 15 miles from downtown Austin. Circuit of The Americas is more than a track – it is designed to be the only purpose-built facility in the U.S. to host the FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX™ through 2026. It will be the only FIA-certified Grade 1 track in the United States, and one of only 26 Grade 1-certified motorsports facilities in the world. The venue is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the world and be seen by approximately 30 million television viewers across the globe for the FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX™ while also hosting dozens of high-profile motorsports (MotoGP and NASCAR), entertainment and business events each year. COTA will also serve as a leader in sustainability as it relates to major event venues and motorsports, through high-performance operations, design, research, education and partnerships. The FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX™ will attract as many as 400,000 people each Grand Prix weekend, with an estimated 80 percent of attendees coming from outside Texas.
About the Role

Description

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is an amusement park with over 30 attractions and experiences, including first-of-their-kind roller coasters.


The Entertainment Supervisor is responsible for the daily leadership, coordination, and execution of COTALAND's live entertainment offerings, including shows, characters, parades, seasonal events, and themed experiences. This position oversees Entertainment Leads and performers while ensuring entertainment operations are safe, efficient, guest-focused, and aligned with the creative vision of the park.

Working closely with Creative, Technical Services, Costuming, Operations, Maintenance, and other departments, the Entertainment Supervisor oversees performer scheduling, production logistics, strategic planning initiatives, inventory, and operational standards. This role serves as a hands-on leader who supports both the artistic quality and operational excellence of COTALAND's entertainment programs.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in management of the daily operations for live entertainment offerings, including shows, characters, parades, special events, and seasonal experiences.
  • Supervise and support Entertainment Leads and performers by providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback, under the direction of the Senior Manager of Entertainment; Talent & Creative.
  • Create and manage weekly schedules for performers, Entertainment Leads, rehearsals, training sessions, and entertainment operations while ensuring proper staffing levels.
  • Monitor attendance, timekeeping, call times, and daily operational readiness.
  • Ensure entertainment experiences are planned and executed safely, consistently, and in accordance with established operational standards.
  • Maintain and enforce entertainment safety procedures, show operating guidelines, emergency response protocols, and backstage policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of performance spaces, backstage areas, props, costumes, and equipment while addressing operational concerns proactively.
  • Support strategic planning for entertainment operations by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, guest experience, staffing models, and entertainment offerings.
  • Collaborate with Creative and Production teams during the development and implementation of new shows, events, seasonal offerings, and themed environments.
  • Coordinate rehearsals, performer check-ins, show calls, and backstage operations.
  • Oversee project timelines, production calendars, and operational milestones for entertainment initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Entertainment Leadership and departments including Creative, Technical Services, Costuming, Operations, Maintenance, Marketing, and Guest Services.
  • Manage entertainment inventories, including costumes, props, consumables, show equipment, and operational supplies while maintaining accurate inventory records and coordinating replacements or repairs.
  • Assist with vendor coordination, scenic installations, production logistics, and themed environment projects.
  • Maintain production documentation including rehearsal reports, performance evaluations, operational notes, safety documentation, and project updates.
  • Assist with auditions, casting support, onboarding, training, and professional development of entertainment staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready backstage environment.
  • Address guest concerns and operational challenges with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Participate in corrective action documentation, coaching conversations, and performance management in partnership with leadership and Human Resources.
  • Support entertainment budgets by monitoring operational expenses, inventory usage, and resource allocation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in live entertainment, theme park operations, production management, or event operations.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience managing performers, production staff, or entertainment teams.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple productions, schedules, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience creating employee schedules and coordinating staffing needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate team members while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising entertainment operations in a theme park, attraction, cruise line, resort, or live event environment.
  • Experience managing character programs, parades, stage productions, or seasonal entertainment offerings.
  • Knowledge of entertainment safety standards, operational procedures, and risk management.
  • Experience with scenic installations, themed environments, or production management.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, inventory management, and operational forecasting.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other creative production software.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of hands to handle equipment, props, costumes, computers, and production materials.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, twist, reach, push, pull, climb stairs, and navigate backstage or themed environments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and direct sunlight.
  • Ability to travel throughout the park multiple times daily to support entertainment operations.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in environments with moderate to high noise levels, including amplified music, special effects, and live performances.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to operational issues and emergency situations while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
