Position Summary
Epic Pain Management is seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Bilingual Patient Advocate (English/Spanish) to join our team. This position serves as the primary point of contact for assigned patients throughout their course of treatment, ensuring timely communication, coordinated care, and an exceptional patient experience.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses outstanding customer service skills, and enjoys collaborating with providers, patients, ancillary service providers, and internal departments to support quality patient care. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required, as this role regularly communicates with Spanish-speaking patients and families.
Essential Responsibilities
• Manage an assigned caseload of patients throughout their course of treatment.
• Serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, ancillary service providers, and internal departments.
• Coordinate treatment recommendations and assist in facilitating continuity of care.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate appointment updates, treatment status, and other case-related information.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing, specialty referrals, imaging, therapy services, and interventional procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and electronic medical records.
• Review patient charts for accuracy and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
• Process and distribute medical records and billing documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
• Respond to patient and provider inquiries in a professional, timely, and compassionate manner.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to identify and resolve barriers to patient care.
• Prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting established productivity and quality expectations.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and all applicable regulations.
Requirements
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, including spoken and written communication, is required.
- Previous experience in healthcare, patient advocacy, care coordination, medical scheduling, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working within an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and team members.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other standard business software programs.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and uphold professionalism at all times in accordance with HIPAA and Company policies.
