About the Role

Position Summary

Watertronics is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead manufacturing operations at our Hartland, Wisconsin facility. As a leader in custom-engineered water pumping solutions, we design and manufacture highly customized systems in an engineer-to-order environment.

The Director of Operations is responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement while developing high-performing teams and supporting the company's growth. This position reports directly to the President and CEO and provides leadership across manufacturing, purchasing, production scheduling, shipping, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and financial objectives.
  • Develop production strategies, establish priorities, and optimize resources across departments.
  • Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, and Customer Service to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop supervisors and employees while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and engagement.
  • Manage departmental budgets, labor utilization, manufacturing costs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Oversee maintenance and facility operations to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and quality standards while maintaining a safe, organized workplace.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Seven or more years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience in a custom manufacturing or engineer-to-order environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, production planning, and operational metrics.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive operational performance.
