Desert Highlands Association/Golf Club is looking to grow their Culinary Team and make it even more awesome than it already is!


Desert Highlands Club is seeking a talented and driven Pastry Chef / Culinary associate to join our premier culinary team. This unique opportunity is designed for an individual with a genuine passion for pastry arts and baking who is equally enthusiastic about contributing to the broader culinary operation of one of Arizona’s most distinguished private clubs.

The ideal candidate will possess a refined appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, and hospitality while embracing the dynamic nature of a luxury club environment. This position offers the opportunity to showcase exceptional baking and pastry skills while maintaining the flexibility to support other culinary outlets and daily clubhouse operations as seasonal demands evolve throughout the year.


Position Summary

The Pastry Chef / Culinary Associate is responsible for producing an exceptional assortment of breakfast breads, pastries, desserts, and specialty baked goods that enhance the member experience across clubs two dining venues, banquets, and private events. In addition to pastry responsibilities, this role requires a collaborative mindset and a willingness to assist with various culinary operations as the needs of the club change with the seasons.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute a diverse selection of artisan breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and specialty baked goods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain consistency and excellence across all pastry offerings for a variety of dining experiences, member events, and private functions.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team in the development of seasonal menus and innovative dessert programs.
  • Support daily culinary operations throughout the clubhouse, adapting to the evolving needs of the kitchen and membership.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety within all work areas.
  • Assist with inventory management, product rotation, and production planning.
  • Uphold the service standards, professionalism, and hospitality that define the Desert Highlands experience.

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Previous experience in pastry, baking, or fine dining kitchens is preferred; private club, resort, or luxury hospitality experience is highly valued.
  • A genuine passion for pastry arts, baking, and culinary excellence.
  • A team-oriented attitude and an eagerness to contribute beyond the pastry kitchen as operational needs change seasonally.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
