Salary:  $144,410 Pro Rata (Plus 12.5%25 Super)

About the Role:


Join Adult Inpatient Mental Health Services and play a key role in supporting a safe, skilled, and sustainable nursing workforce.

Adult Inpatient Mental Health Services operates across The Canberra Hospital (TCH) and North Canberra Hospital (NCH), providing specialist care through the Adult Mental Health Unit, Ward 12B Mental Health Unit, Mental Health Short Stay Unit, Mental Health Clinical Liaison services, Acacia Mental Health Unit (Acute Adults), and Banksia Mental Health Unit (Older Persons).

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Rostering and Recruitment, you will lead nursing workforce coordination across Acacia, Banksia, and the NCH Mental Health Clinical Liaison Service. Working closely with Clinical Nurse Consultants and the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will ensure safe staffing levels, an appropriate skill mix, and compliance with nurse-to-patient ratios, while managing rostering in accordance with the ACT Public Service Nursing and Midwifery Enterprise Agreement 2023–2026.

You will also play a pivotal role in nursing recruitment, helping to attract and retain a high-performing workforce that supports exceptional patient care.

Reporting to the ADON, North Canberra Hospital Mental Health Services, this full-time position offers a standard five-day work week and the opportunity to contribute to workforce planning, quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and multidisciplinary collaboration within a dynamic mental health service.
