About the Role

Are you ready to make a significant impact in one of the world’s most beloved brands? In this role, you will collaborate with top marketing minds to amplify our product across consumer products (bricks and non bricks), ensuring they resonate with fans of all ages.

Core Responsibilities

  • Licensing & Extended Line (LEL) Portfolio Strategy: Partner with Head of Marketing to co-lead the Portfolio Strategy process ensuring that product lines amplify the priorities of our LEGO business. Define and guide cross category priorities for LEL based on key tentpole events. Improve the End-2-End inclusion of the LEL portfolio all the way to shelf and local marketing activations

  • Craft the brand story: In partnership with global marketing collaborators, define our brand positioning outside of the core vertical toy business. As part of this ensure narrative cohesion and brand integrity across all expressions of the IP, influencing publishing, licensing, and the creative expression and storytelling at retail

  • Informal team leadership & change management: Inspire, collaborate and define new ways of working across internal teams and with external partners to deliver increased impact of our portfolio

  • Influence and management: Cultivate partnerships with internal teams across marketing and commercial teams. As part of this maintain regular communications to identify, amplify, and improve the integration across the business E2E

  • Business & process development: Oversee the creation of marketing tools and needs of the business to support the LEL teams in leading existing relationships with licensees, retailers, and in support of new business development

  • Responsible for the end-to-end consumer and shopper insights needs of LEL and working closely with Global Insights teams

The LEGO Group’s Licensing and Extended Line (LEL) department is responsible for growing our unique reach with consumers and deepening the engagement through extended line and licensed products.

This role is responsible for portfolio strategy across LEL product lines and as part of this drives the expansion of our intellectual properties and characters into consumer products that are non-brick with an aim to improve brand love and fandom.


Do you have what it takes?

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Strategy or similar

  • Preferably experience within Licensed Consumer Products

  • Proven strategic approach as well as thought leadership, capable of transforming abstract and complex ideas and future visions into strategic and tactical solutions

  • Building affinity with existing and prospective consumers and shoppers through insights and a deep knowledge of the reality of retail and the shopper environment

  • Influencing: Extensive experience working in matrixed organizations with distributed leadership and decision-making, making you a wizard in influencing, communicating and creating followership

  • Motivated by the opportunity to craft the impact of an area with significant growth potential and an ability to deal with ambiguity and not letting roadblocks or change-impediments get to you
