Join the Shakespeare Property Group Portfolio People & Culture team and take ownership of the people agenda at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort & Sunshine Coast Convention Centre - a premier coastal resort featuring more than 373 rooms and a 1,400-person convention centre servicing the Australian and international events market. We are currently undergoing a 25-million-dollar rooms and venue revitalisation, which, in combination with our world-class Convention Centre, makes this an even more exciting opportunity for an experienced People & Culture professional to partner with our senior leaders. This role is a driving force in shaping the organisational culture and will deliver even more meaningful initiatives that enhance the employee experience and business performance.

Working as part of a collaborative Portfolio People & Culture team supporting another four leading Accor hotels, you will enjoy the opportunity to combine strategic influence with hands-on delivery in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Job Description

The Opportunity

As the People & Culture Manager, you will provide trusted advice, coaching and support to leaders across all areas of the employee lifecycle. You will play a key role in building capability, strengthening engagement and supporting a positive workplace culture aligned with organisational values.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with leaders to provide advice and coaching across employee relations, recruitment, performance management and people matters.
  • Leading key people initiatives including performance reviews, talent and succession planning, engagement activities and remuneration processes.
  • Developing and implementing initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Using insights and data to influence decision-making and support business outcomes.
  • Developing, reviewing and improving people policies, procedures and processes.
  • Supporting Portfolio People & Culture initiatives and ensuring effective communication and delivery across the business.
  • Promoting a strong workplace health and safety culture with heart by partnering with leaders to support safety initiatives, employee wellbeing and compliance improvement practices.

Qualifications

About You

You are a passionate People & Culture leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong relationships across all levels of an organisation.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience as a hands-on People & Culture Manager and true HR Business Partner ideally in a high volume hotel or service environment
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations frameworks and award interpretation, including experience working with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building skills leading with heart and a win-win business mindset.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical, hands-on delivery.
  • Confidence providing advice on employment conditions, compliance requirements and practical solutions that support both employees and business outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects on time.
  • A passion for creating positive employee experiences and building engaged teams with a happy can-do approach to all situations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline are highly regarded.
