The Opportunity
PremiStar is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our growing team in Canton, Ohio.
This role is responsible for managing and expanding relationships with existing commercial customers while identifying opportunities to grow recurring service revenue, equipment replacement projects, and additional mechanical services. The Account Manager serves as a trusted advisor, ensuring customers receive outstanding service while helping them maximize the performance and lifecycle of their mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate has experience in commercial HVAC service sales or account management, understands building systems, enjoys building long-term customer relationships, and has a proven ability to identify growth opportunities.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned commercial and industrial customers.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer service needs, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and responsiveness.
Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities for preventive maintenance agreement expansions, equipment upgrades, controls, plumbing services, and additional mechanical solutions.
Manage preventive maintenance agreement renewals and negotiate contract extensions with appropriate annual price adjustments.
Identify equipment replacement opportunities by analyzing equipment age, repair history, and lifecycle costs.
Coordinate planned maintenance shutdowns, equipment replacements, and major repair projects with customer facility managers.
Prepare service proposals, maintenance agreements, budget pricing, and repair quotations.
Respond to customer requests for proposals (RFPs) and develop accurate service solutions.
Review service reports and communicate technical findings to customers in a clear, professional manner.
Work closely with service managers, dispatchers, technicians, estimators, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
Develop and deliver customer presentations highlighting service offerings, capital planning recommendations, and long-term facility strategies.
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and service agreements while maintaining company profitability objectives.
Maintain accurate customer records, sales opportunities, forecasts, and activity within the CRM system.
Monitor account performance and proactively address customer concerns before they become issues.
Partner with Business Development to transition new customers into long-term service relationships.
Participate in sales planning, forecasting, and account strategy meetings.
Represent PremiStar professionally while promoting a culture of safety, integrity, and customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
High school diploma or GED with relevant commercial HVAC service sales experience will also be considered.
3–5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, building services, facilities management, or mechanical contracting.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in account management, technical sales, or service sales.
Experience selling commercial HVAC service agreements, maintenance programs, repairs, and capital equipment replacements.
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, building automation systems (BAS), controls, and mechanical equipment.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment schedules, and construction documents.
Experience preparing service proposals, maintenance agreements, and cost estimates.
Knowledge of financial analysis including ROI, lifecycle costing, and energy savings calculations.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously.
Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM/ERP software preferred.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
