About The Company
UGL Regional Linx was established in 2021, after parent company, UGL Limited was selected to deliver operations and maintenance of rail infrastructure for the Country Regional Network (CRN). This network ensures the safe movement of people and goods throughout the regions of NSW, and links Sydney with many important regional centres. UGL Regional Linx commenced operations on January 30 2022 and works on behalf of the client, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and will be responsible for managing an important network of assets. As part of its operation, UGL Regional Linx’s scope of work includes: • Network operations • Rail infrastructure maintenance and implementation of a new train control system - UGL’s proprietary system, Sigview. • Asset and property management, and • Safety, access, performance, and environmental management. UGL Regional Linx has made a strong commitment to local and indigenous employment, further strengthening the organisation’s commitment to regional NSW. As part of its operations, UGL Regional Linx established its head office and Network Control Centre in the heart of the Central West, Orange, NSW. The CRN network includes: • 2,386 route kilometres of operational passenger and freight rail lines, including 996 km of branch line track used predominantly for haulage of grain, with lower mass and speed limits than other parts of the network • 3,139 route kilometres of non-operational lines • 27,000 hectares of land and infrastructure • 1,312 level crossings (300 active) • 1,200 property assets (including 356 heritage sites) • 600 rail under bridges and 384 road overbridges The CRN is a crucial piece of infrastructure to regional NSW and UGL Regional Linx is committed to ensure that it delivers for all customers, from rail passengers to farmers and industry.
About the Role

Looking for your next career-defining infrastructure project? Join UGL's Syncons project team and play a key role in the delivery of a major utilities and energy project in regional NSW. This is an opportunity for a motivated Civil Site Engineer to contribute to site delivery, technical coordination, quality assurance, and project execution while working alongside experienced project and construction teams.

The Opportunity

As a Site Engineer - Civil, you will provide on-site engineering support across construction activities, assisting with planning, technical coordination, quality management, subcontractor interfaces, and project delivery activities. The role works closely with the Project Manager and broader project team to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support site construction activities, engineering coordination, and technical problem solving.

  • Prepare and review project documentation including SWMS, ITPs, BOMs, project registers, and engineering records.

  • Assist with quality assurance, inspections, testing, validation, and compliance activities.

  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support project delivery outcomes.

  • Identify and manage technical issues, variations, and engineering requirements while maintaining a strong safety focus.

About You

  • Engineering qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer, Project Engineer, or Graduate Engineer on construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy, or industrial projects.

  • Exposure to design, installation, testing, commissioning, or construction delivery environments.

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, project documentation, and engineering processes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence & Construction White Card
