 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleans equipment and work areas so that product can be produced free from contamination such as bacteria, foreign objects, etc.  
  • Team Member disassembles pumps, pipes, and other equipment at the end of the production run for cleaning purposes
  • Reassembles pumps, pipes, and other equipment for the next production use
  • Preflight (power, time, sequence) equipment prior to production use
  • Lubricates production equipment as required
  • Cleans equipment and work area in a timely manner
  • Identifies hazards and safely works with these hazards such as electrical panels and moving conveyors
  • Team Member works with others as a team to complete tasks in an efficient manner, to ensure the line is ready to start and to minimize downtime
  • Completes paperwork as needed, for example: crew sheets, downtime reports, etc. 
  • Adhere to SLFB policies, procedures, SQF 2000, Good Manufacturing Practices and Global Business Standards

  • Forklift experience preferred 

 Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Prior work experience in food manufacturing preferred
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be willing to use simple tools
  • Must be willing to be trained to operate motorized equipment
  • Must be knowledgeable of all chemicals and correct concentration of chemicals used in the sanitation department; must be willing to adjust concentration as needed
  • Must be willing to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a production environment requiring safety glasses, hair/beard net, hearing protection, and rubber boots with safety toe. All PPE is provided by SLFB
  • Must be willing to climb up and down stairs to enter/exit production area and work platforms
  • Walk over boot scrubbers prior to entering work areas
  • Must be willing to work in wet, hot, and cold environments
  • Must be willing to work in confined spaces
  • Must be willing to work with chemicals/ingredients that may cause skin/respiratory irritation and may be flammable
  • Must be willing to work 8-12 hours shifts which include standing, walking, reaching over conveyors, lifting, and pushing items
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to include, but not limited to cross training in other areas
