Position Summary
The Lunchroom Supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, orderly, and
convivial lunch environment that reflects the mission and virtues of St. Mary Catholic Virtue
School. Working collaboratively with other lunchroom supervisors and faculty, this position
ensures that lunchroom procedures are consistently implemented while fostering a spirit of
conviviality, respect, gratitude, self-control, and responsibility. The Lunchroom Supervisor helps
students experience lunchtime as an opportunity to build community through joyful fellowship,
courteous conversation, and shared meals.
Student Supervision
- Maintain a calm, orderly, welcoming, and convivial lunchroom environment.
- Encourage students to practice the virtues of conviviality, respect, gratitude, self-control, and responsibility during the lunch period.
- Model and reinforce courteous table manners, respectful conversation, and hospitality toward others.
- Monitor student behavior and address concerns promptly, consistently, and respectfully.
- Reinforce school expectations while fostering positive relationships with students.
Lunchroom Procedures
- Welcome each class as they enter the lunchroom, ensuring students enter quietly and only after the previous lunch period has concluded.
- Monitor student arrival and dismissal procedures, including seating, hot lunch lines, and milk distribution.
- Respond to students who raise their hands for assistance.
- Maintain a peaceful atmosphere where students can enjoy their meals and engage in respectful conversation.
- Monitor and maintain an appropriate noise level that supports both conviviality and order.
- Collaborate with fellow lunchroom supervisors to communicate expectations and restore quiet when conversations become disruptive.
- Work cooperatively with teachers, lunchroom attendants, and administration to ensure consistent implementation of lunchroom expectations.

- Demonstrates a commitment to the mission and Catholic identity of St. Mary Catholic Virtue School.
- Appreciates the role of shared meals in building community and fostering conviviality among students.
- Enjoys working with elementary and middle school students.
- Ability to supervise large groups while maintaining a calm, welcoming, and positive demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to consistently enforce school expectations with fairness, kindness, and firmness.
- Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 11:00-1:00
Student Contact Days: Approximately 170
Wage: $17-20 an hour
