We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Education and Languages:

 



Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator for the Research Project “Hong Kong Film Adaptations of Journey to the West: Modern Transformations and Significance of Traditional Chinese Literature”. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Assisting and supporting the Principal Investigator in implementing all aspects related to the research project;

  • Conducting preliminary research for the project and assisting in data collection, data analysis, and related research activities;

  • Providing a wide range of administrative support to the project; and

  • Carrying out other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator.

     

     

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognised degree or above, preferably in Chinese Language, Chinese literature, Cultural Studies, Film Studies, or a related discipline;

  • Strong ability and knowledge of Classical Chinese literature, Hong Kong Studies, or Film criticism;

  • Strong organisational and planning skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and competent at computer skills (MS Office using Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) as well as editing skills;

  • Be self-motivated and meticulous;

  • Be able to meet deadlines and work independently; and

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

The appointee will be normally assigned to work less than 68 hours per four consecutive weeks.

 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
