Join Our Finance Team!
Polaris Direct is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and contributing to a collaborative team. As an Accounting Specialist, you'll play an important role in supporting the company's financial operations through accounts payable, account reconciliation, payroll backup, and general accounting responsibilities.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, approvals, and proper general ledger coding.
- Process accounts payable transactions, vendor payments, check requests, and employee expense reimbursements.
- Maintain and reconcile open purchase orders.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies by collaborating with vendors and internal departments.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities, audits, and other Finance Department projects.
- Serve as a backup for biweekly payroll processing while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Support the Controller with additional accounting, finance, and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who has:
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in accounts payable, accounting, or finance preferred.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidential information.
