Deputy Controller - Meal & Bean

This role is responsible for independently managing Business and Industrial Controlling for the FFS platform, including industrial operations, budgeting, operational performance monitoring, risk management, and financial analysis. The position supports strategic decision-making by ensuring financial discipline, identifying and driving process efficiency initiatives, providing financial insights for commercial decisions, and leading financial aspects of new project evaluations and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Collection and Analysis for Middle Office Management:
  • Developing various MIS to provide timely and accurately
  • Managing platform position exposure; data extraction, analysis and reporting.
  • Accurately and timely reporting with detailed justification on each movement.
  • Daily position movement reconciliation with trader’s Trade Ticket /Trade recap file and align position with trader’s positions
  • Ensuring timely trade input in front end system, Manage timely correct reporting as per Market Risk and Global reporting systems.
  • Timely Follow up and correction for any position error in coordination with IT/ Trader/Execution.
  • Daily FX exposure calculation and reconciliation of commercial trades vs currency hedges taken with finance platform
  • Alarming the Traders for timely corrective action to avoid any PNL risk due to unhedged exposure
• Insights and Reporting
  • Prepare overall platform PNL and reporting to management weekly.
  • Analyzing movement; transaction wise for each oil/activity/plant/location.
  • Identifying and explaining PNL movement by key strategy and split it in-depth by new trades, cost movement, price movement, Import/export margin etc.
  • Cost analysis for various head related to production and execution; Estimated Vs Actual (Bank Charges, Custom Duty/ Port Storage/Transportation/Brokerage).
  • PNL movement explanation with detailed commentary to enable trading team to take better decision on existing position and build new positions Cash and Future.
  • Monthly Forex Reco at Balance sheet level to reconcile all balance sheet item and initiate corrective actions to protect PNL
• Business Controlling & Budgeting:
  • Close coordination & discussion with marketing & sales team for volume, Margins, Head count, G&A cost etc.
  • Budget working as per regional/central guidelines and submission of the same timely for further approval
  • Secondary cost analysis and suggest for cost saving
  • Budget vs Actual analysis
  • Contribute to the development of annual business plans including key activities/projects and with estimating the financial and Head counts required to deliver performance targets.
  • Industry Budget-Collating Various cost, consumption, volume and price data projections across functions.
  • Analyzing data, Allocating the budget across different processes,
  • Input Budget into system- Analyze key consumable prices. Monthly discussions and brainstorming on budget vs actual costs and discussions on landing.
  • Capex Budget & Analysis, Review with Platform and finalize the nos.
• Financial Policies and Operational Compliance:
  • Continuous Improve operation and financial controls
  • Cash Flow reporting (CFF) Daily/Monthly
  • Regular review of Costs, Accruals, MTM and AR and suggest for provisions
  • Follow up with execution team to timely entry of all invoices.
  • Trade Compliance & Credit risk : Reviewing and monitoring various agreements including agents & Alarming teams for renewing Agreements and forms.
  • Monthly MIS- Weekly credit risk report
• Solutions Analysis - Process automation and efficiency
• Information and Business Advice - Supporting commercial decisions with financial insights
• Project Management - Supporting cost efficiency and new projects development

• Chartered Accountant, CMA, MBA or equivalent, having min 2 years of Experience
• Functional knowledge of Commodities business is a plus (not mandatory)
