Electrical Engineer

Based at Freeze Dried Foods in Hastings, you'll be part of the ZIWI family and the global Fountain Vest group, combining the agility of a specialist manufacturing site with the strength and investment of a world-class premium pet nutrition business. We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to help drive the reliability, safety and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations.

This is a hands-on role where you'll combine technical expertise with project delivery, automation and continuous improvement to maximise equipment performance and support the future growth of our business.

What you'll be doing

You'll play a key role in ensuring our manufacturing plant operates at peak performance by:

• Leading the reliability and continuous improvement of electrical systems across our production facilities.

• Diagnosing and resolving complex electrical, instrumentation and automation issues.

• Developing preventative, predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies.

• Supporting and improving PLC, HMI and SCADA control systems alongside our Automation Engineer.

• Delivering electrical components of capital projects, plant upgrades and new equipment installations.

• Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, reduce downtime and increase manufacturing efficiency.

• Providing technical leadership, coaching and support to maintenance teams and contractors.

• Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Health & Safety and Supply Chain to deliver outstanding operational performance.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the plant floor as much as solving technical challenges.

You'll ideally have:

• A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience working in a manufacturing, food production or FMCG environment.

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor control, instrumentation and power distribution.

• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and industrial automation systems.

• A solid understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles.

• Experience leading or supporting engineering projects and commissioning equipment.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and operational teams.
