About the Role

About the role

We’re on the lookout for a Senior Engineering Project Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will bring your engineering and project management skills to play in a key role to deliver a diverse range of projects.  

You will support to deliver a significant portfolio of projects in our Capital Works program where you will help meet our engineering standards and drive our financial return.

 

This role requires previous engineering and project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders including engineering, manufacturing, quality and regulatory teams. 

Key responsibilities of this role include.

  • Support a portfolio of capital projects within the company’s annual capital budget. 

  • Deliver these to the companies engineering standards and engineering work practice.

  • Evaluating workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data, and production schedules and costs to optimise resource allocation and improve overall project efficiency.

  • Developing detailed project specifications and managing the planning process for manufacturing facilities, including defining requirements for materials, equipment, piping, and system layouts.

  • Overseeing material flow design, capacity planning, and plant construction layouts to ensure alignment with project objectives, timelines, and compliance standards. Coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, safe, and cost-effective solutions within scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Planning, coordinating, and controlling project resources, including labour, materials, plant, and equipment, to ensure timely availability and alignment with the project management plan and schedule.

  • Prioritise work and projects to deliver the highest financial payback and safety risk reduction.

  • Work closely and maintain strong relationships with key project stakeholders.

  • Overview and advise non engineering project managers delivering minor projects in the portfolio area.

  • Ensuring a high level of quality control on projects so performance requirements and health and safety best practice are observed.

  • Work with other engineering project managers and capital projects manager to improve and streamline the capital project delivery process.

 

Skills and Experience 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes: 

 

  • 7 to 10 years experience in a similar Engineering Project Manager role ideally within the dairy,  FMCG, processing industries or a similar field. 

  • Bachelors degree in Process, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • You will ideally hold a PMP (Project Management Professional), Prince2 Practitioner or similar.

  • Previous experience in performance specification, procurement and management of process plant contracts.

  • Construction, safety and commissioning management experience preferred.
