Job Title: Certified Nurse Midwife - PER DIEM

Location: Brattleboro, Vermont


POSITION SUMMARY 


This per diem midwife will be part of a team of nurse-midwives, physicians, and a women’s health nurse practitioner at Four Seasons OB/GYN & Midwifery. The midwives and physicians collaborate closely to provide individualized obstetric and gynecologic care to the southeastern VT and southwestern NH communities. The practice provides intrapartum care at BMH’s Birthing Center, and is located in beautiful Brattleboro, VT.  The position reports clinically to the Medical Director and administratively to the Practice Director and works under protocol established by the practice clinicians. Duties include but are not limited to: 

· Provide full scope midwifery care including prenatal care, intrapartum management, deliveries, and postpartum care; 

  • Collaborate with physician team to manage higher risk cases as appropriate; 
  • Participate in rotating call coverage including labor management, triage, postpartum rounds, and cesarean first assist; 
  • Provide wellness, contraceptive management, and option to also provide other gynecologic care in outpatient setting. 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: Certified nurse midwife; Masters Degree or equivalent desired.

Experience: Three years of nurse/midwifery experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as an APRN by the State of Vermont.

Certifications as a certified nurse midwife

Qualified to be credentialed by the BMH Medical Staff.

DEA license.

CPR

Neonatal resuscitation within 6 months of hire.

Mental Efforts: Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.

Normal and corrected vision/hearing.

Exposure to blood/body fluids and communicable diseases.

Helping and assisting with the lifting and/or moving of patients.

Environment & Working Conditions Exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
