Staff Software Engineer

Upstream Security is at the forefront of automotive cybersecurity and data management, offering cutting-edge solutions for connected vehicles. Upstream’s agentless cybersecurity detection & response (XDR) platform monitors 30 million vehicles and IoT endpoints worldwide working closely with global automakers, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, fleets, and smart mobility IoT devices.

We’re looking for a talented Backend Engineer to join our fast growing R&D team.

This role is full-time and is based in Herzliya, Israel.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement resilient, high-performance backend services for our cloud-native cybersecurity platform.
• Enhance data flows and scale integrations with automotive data systems.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build secure, flexible solutions.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and adapt to ongoing changes.

Requirements

• At least 7+ years of backend development experience, with large-scale products.
• Proficient in Kotlin/Java for backend development.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and services.
• Experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker and monitoring technologies.
• Experience in Kafka, Redis, Postgres, and Trino.
• Proven track-record in delivering reliable software products.
• Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to balance multiple stakeholders’ inputs.
