About the Role

Location: Greenville, MI Department: Operations 

Reports to: Hot Side Manager    Date: August 2025

Summary 

The Hot Side Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager in successfully managing all resources, processes, procedures, outputs and personnel related to the associated departments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Plant Supervisor in managing Team Leaders and other personnel from Melt, Mold Maintenance, and Casting Decks.

· Departmental daily safety spot checks

· Plant Two Hotside Supervisor assist in management of personnel

· Manage quality and yield and report to Manager

· Support Manager position when Manager is on leave

· Responsible for the production quantity, quality and cost of Melting, Mold Maintenance and Casting processes.

· Coach and develop employees in the manufacturing team. This includes but is not limited to: training/re-training employees according to SOP’s, documenting employee performance (safety, attendance, production, quality, etc.)

· Working with Team Leads on ensuring that employee reviews are completed with integrity and on time.

· Ensure that production employees comply with policies and procedures. These policies include but are not limited to: Safety Procedures, Company Handbook policies, GMP standards, and Standard Operating Procedures. Recommend and implement appropriate disciplinary action when policies/procedures are not followed.

· Analyze both production processes and team members to determine areas for improvement. Develop and implement plans for improvement. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, waste elimination, cost, and on time production. 

· Provide daily housekeeping expectations, follow up with activities and provide feedback to team members on progress.

· Communicate with management and subordinates on other shifts to determine priorities for production and to adjust schedules due to lack of resources (machine downtime, lack of staff) in the most efficient manner. Ensure production issues between shifts are managed with minimal or no interruption to production.

· Monitor and report daily EOS production data into appropriate reporting software, also include EOS report to manager.

· Ensure daily/weekly/monthly Safety and Process LPA’s are being completed.

· Operate machinery and equipment as needed.

· Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills and Experience

·  

· High School Diploma or GED preferred

· Some college experience preferred

· 2-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing required

· Previous 5S Training Preferred 

· Knowledge of Heat Treatment, Casting, and Melting Process preferred

· Organizing and coordinating skills

· Practical Knowledge in Safety

Physical Work Conditions  

· Must be able to work in a hot environment.

· Must be able to lift varying weights

· Must be able to push or pull carts of wheels.

· Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day.

· Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required.
