Join the Civmec Team

This is a great opportunity for experienced Special Class Welders to join our team working on the FMG Green Iron project located at Christmas Creek. Civmec has been awarded the delivery of the Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation packages of work that kicked off in June 2025 with project completion scheduled for Mid-2026. The project offers a 3:1 roster with transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport.

The Role

Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor your key responsibilities are:
 
•    Interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, specifications and standards
•    Skilled in all position welding to AS and ASME Standards with a proven track record of precision and attention to detail.
•    Maintain all correct consumables, feeds, amperages and pre heat in accordance with applicable weld procedures
•    Perform fit up and welding on piping and structural components; GTAW and MMAW. 
•    Remove tack welds, clean and restore weld preparations where required

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
 
•    Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role within the mining and resources sector
•    Australian recognised Trade Certificate or equivalent
•    Ability to attend and pass a 3G/4G/6G MMAW & GTAW weld test before mobilisation
•    Experience in carbon and stainless-steel welding
•    Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
•    Current High risk elevating work platform license 
•    Current Working Safely at Heights Certificate
•    Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
•    Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
