About the role:

As a Component Design intern, you will provide technical support to component leads for assigned work performed in the design and analysis of reactor components throughout several parts of the design process.

You will report to the Component & Equipment Design Manager and be located at our Cranberry location. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical calculations and evaluations of reactor components using a variety of engineering tools and methods. Develop documentation related to these calculations and analyses
  • Develop design documentation for safety and non-safety related hardware; this includes design specifications, test specifications and compliance matrices
  • Skills using Software Packages such as Mathcad, Matlab, ANSYS or equivalent and
  • Work with other internal departments on similar engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments
  • Plan and schedule work to meet assignment requirements
  • Evaluate standards, techniques, procedures and criteria for development of engineering design documents including calculations and specifications

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Complete sophomore year of college
  • No relocation assistance provided

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
