Shop Support/ Welder

Description

Summary: 

The primary function of this position is to Weld, Fabricate and re-work cases and housings. You will also be responsible for helping Drivetrain Technicians with Daily welding and Fabricating needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Get direction from shop leads on priority of work.

· Perform re-work functions as described by Shop leads.

· Ability to weld Aluminum, Cast Iron, and Magnesium.

Work with Machinists on projects that require welding. 

· Ensure the finished Weld is in good working order and cosmetically up to standards.

· Inform maintenance when machinery breakdown occurs. 

· Maintain a clean and safe work space.

· Other tasks as directed. 

· Will conduct these responsibilities in a professional and timely manner. 

Able to work well with others.

Always wear Proper PPE. 

Requirements

Preferred Education and Experience: 

· Basic automotive and mechanical skills.

· Experience using basic power tools.

Capable of using Plasma cutter and Torch.

· Ability to weld MiG/TIG and wire feed.

Knowledge and Personal Attributes:

· Able to work independently.

Ability to work well with others.

Attention to Detail.
