About the Role

Overview

CVP is seeking a highly talented Data Engineer to contribute to the development of systems running the Hadoop and Spark frameworks.  Our mission is to architect, build, and support innovative health care IT systems which focus on optimizing quality programs.

 

The ideal candidate will apply their skills to develop big data applications that use data to find new insights and to create measures that can help improve healthcare quality and performance. The professional in this role will collaborate with team members as part of a big data team that ingests, manages, and analyzes data in support of organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Management of a centralized data lake repository
  • Ingest data from various data sources into the data repository
  • Perform data wrangling to extract, transform, and load data. Coordinate the design, development, and testing of complex and efficient code
  • Implement data quality controls and maintain retention policies
  • Support stakeholder requests for custom masked data sets

Qualifications

  • Active DHS Public Trust Clearance
  • 3 years of increasing responsibility developing complex data processes on Cloudera, Hortonworks, AWS EMR, GCP Dataproc, Azure HDInsight or similar
  • Workflow tools – Oozie, Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, or similar
  • HiveQL, Spark SQL, or SQL
  • Experience with Agile software development

Desired Skills

  • PySpark and Python
  • SparklyR and R
  • SAS, SPSS, or Stata
  • Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server
  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platform experience
  • Infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) and configuration as code (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Version control (e.g. Git) and CI (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related
