Production Systems Co-Op

Utz Quality Foods is excited to offer an exceptional Engineering co-op opportunity for students passionate about engineering, data management, and process improvement. As a Production Systems Co-Op, you’ll work closely with the Utz Performance Management System (UPMS) team to support data analysis, reporting, and process optimization in a manufacturing environment.
This is a Spring semester program requiring availability from January through May.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and interpret data, analyze results, and produce actionable reports.
- Develop and implement data collection standards and systems to ensure high-quality data.
- Identify and correct errors in data through filtering and cleaning processes.
- Collaborate with the UPMS team to prioritize data and information needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.
- Partner with IT to develop best practices and requirements for data warehouse reporting.
- Assist in the design and maintenance of manufacturing databases.
- Create data visualizations and reports using Power BI.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Experience with Python, SQL, or Tableau is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a self-starter attitude.
- Familiarity with statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
- Desired majors: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math disciplines, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
