Company :

United States Antarctic Programme (USAP) have indicated their intention to second eight Terra staff to their vehicle maintenance facility at McMurdo Station for winter 2026. 
 

8 x Heavy Diesel Technicians (options for Skills Transfer Techs and 3rd+ year Apprentices)

Secondment dates (TBC):

23 February - 6 May (approx 10 weeks)
6 May - 19 August (approx 15 weeks)
17 August - 7 October (approx 8 weeks)

This opportunity requires you to:  

• Have a current passport, valid until at least April 2027

• Pass a physical qualification (PQ) and police clearance

• Embody our values, and adhere to our lifesaving commitments, at all times

• Possess problem solving skills and be able to work in isolation

This deployment will be based at McMurdo Station, on the south tip of Ross Island.  McMurdo Station is the largest community in Antarctica and offers many recreational activities and unique experiences.  The community is close knit and requires applicants to be able to work as team players, in isolation.
