About the Role
Description
Outerland is hiring a Landscape Construction Manager to lead the field operations of our construction division.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who loves being in the field and thrives on building extraordinary outdoor spaces while driving teams to peak performance. You will spend the majority of your time on-site—actively working with and directing multiple crews, overseeing project execution, and mentoring the next generation of craftsmen.
Key Deliverables
- Build & Execute: You are the technical expert on-site. You will oversee the execution of site prep, grading, masonry, hardscape, planting, and drainage to ensure every project meets Outerland’s high bar for quality.
- Train & Mentor: You are the primary trainer for our field staff. You will work side-by-side with foremen and laborers to elevate their skills and craftsmanship.
- Drive Performance: Manage daily crew scheduling, budgets, safety protocols, and regular performance reviews, while building a culture of accountability and pride.
- Manage the Fleet: Oversee the care of equipment, ensuring tools are maintained, safe, and ready for work (DOT/OSHA compliance).
What We’re Looking For
- Leadership: A hands-on leader with a proven ability to train, mentor, and elevate a team.
- Technical Eye: Strong organizational skills—able to juggle multiple jobs and solve problems on the fly.
- Experience: 5+ years in landscape construction (Hardscape, Masonry, Grading, Irrigation).
- Basic Computer Skills: Comfortable with the daily use of computers/tablets for email, time-tracking, and digital reporting.
- Licensing: Valid Drivers License, MA Hoisting License, and DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain).
