About the Role

Description

At Hi-Way Paving, we specialize in concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation for highways and airfields. While we may not have immediate openings, we are always looking for skilled Concrete Saw Operators to join our team.


This role requires extensive travel to project sites in Charlotte, NC, Nashville, TN, and future locations as part of our slip-form concrete paving operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Operate walk-behind concrete saws to create clean, precise expansion/control joint cuts on pavements (roadways, runways, etc.).
  • Cut out damaged concrete, drill for reinforcing rods, and position rods for concrete repair.
  • Conduct post-cut inspections and correct any errors while maintaining quality.
  • Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure and protect concrete surfaces.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and hazard-free.
  • Follow all safety protocols and worksite regulations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

 What We Look For:

  • 3+ years of experience as a concrete saw operator (required).
  • 1+ year of heavy/highway construction experience (5+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of saw equipment, blade types, and safety practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and work independently.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% based on project needs.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases).
    • Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces.
    • If applicable, indicate union affiliation in your application.
    • Must be at least 18 years old to meet job-site safety and labor requirements.
