Pay Ranges: 

TECH I - ENTRY -$20–$23/HR. DOE + $1.00 shift Differential

TECH II - INTERMEDIATE -$24–$27/HR. DOE + $1.00 shift Differential

Tech III - ADVANCED - $28 - $34 HR. DOE + $1.00 shift Differential  


Hours:  M-F - 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM


POSITION OVERVIEW

Kratos is seeking skilled electrical wiring technicians (levels I, II, and III) to join our growing production team in the manufacture of advanced switchgear, controls, and power distribution systems. in this role, you will work hands-on to wire and integrate complex electro-mechanical systems, supporting critical infrastructure across sectors such as utilities, defense, and renewable energy.

This is a high-impact, detail-oriented role where precision in electrical wiring, familiarity with schematics, and adherence to quality standards are essential. candidates should bring a strong foundation in electrical assembly practices, along with a commitment to craftsmanship and safety in every build. These positions offer a structured progression from Level I to Level III, with opportunities to advance into Lead Technician or Supervisor roles based on performance and skill development.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ALL LEVELS)

  • Assemble electrical sub-assemblies and electrical components from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Perform electrical adjustments, torque fasteners to specification, and conduct fit checks
  • Use hand and power tools to build control panels, switchboards, and associated wiring
  • Follow strict quality standards, safety protocols, and lean manufacturing practices (5s)
  • Perform basic to advanced electrical testing (depending on level), including use of multimeters, HIPOT testers, and power supplies
  • Interpret and complete build documentation, job travelers, and in-process checklists
  • Use of ERP systems (e.g., JobBOSS) and mobile applications for tracking work and logging data
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, collaborate with engineering and leadership on product and process enhancement
  • Uphold Kratos’ code orange culture of excellence, urgency, and accountability


RESPONSIBILITIES BY LEVEL


Tech I / Entry - $20–$23/hr. DOE

  • Basic assembly of electrical parts and wiring harnesses under supervision
  • Read and follow simple assembly drawings and wiring diagrams, work orders, and assembly instructions
  • Strip and crimp wires, mount components, and plug connectors safely
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area (5s), wear required PPE, and follow all safety rules
  • Log completed steps on paper or digital travelers


Ideal background:

  • 6 months to 1+ year of relevant hands-on experience (mechanical or electrical assembly, general manufacturing)
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn


Tech II / intermediate - $24–$27/hr. DOE

  • All of tech i responsibilities in addition to tech ii responsibilities
  • Independent assembly of medium-complexity electro-mechanical systems
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Perform light troubleshooting and basic electrical rework
  • Conduct in-process inspections for part orientation, correct wiring, and torque specifications
  • Adhere to UL manufacturing standards and support testing/QA functions


Ideal background:

  • 2+ years of electrical assembly and wiring experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision


Tech III / advanced - $28–$34/hr. DOE

  • All of tech i and tech ii responsibilities in addition to tech iii responsibilities
  • Expert-level wiring and troubleshooting of complex control systems and switchgear
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices and safety standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on product improvements and lean initiatives
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections and generate reports on product and process conformance
  • Participating in the development of work instructions and SOPs


Ideal background:

  • 3+ years of experience in ul-certified switchgear or control panel assembly (ul 508a, ul 891, ul 1558, ul 67, or ul 1008)
  • Leadership potential and strong technical communication skills


QUALIFICATIONS:


Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated electrical aptitude and experience using hand/power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions
  • Commitment to punctuality, professionalism, and safety
  • Valid driver’s license and clean background
  • Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to stand, crouch, or bend for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a production floor environment with moderate noise and temperature changes

Preferred:

  • Completion of a vocational program, multiple years of direct experience, or military experience related to electrical systems
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing (5s, kaizen)
  • Computer literacy (data entry, teams, ERP systems like JobBOSS)
