As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-grade data platforms and data applications that support core business operations. This role is suited for a highly experienced professional who can take ownership of complex data initiatives, drive technical excellence, and deliver scalable, reliable solutions within a modern data engineering ecosystem. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and contribute directly to operational efficiency, risk reduction, and platform resilience.
Key Responsibilities• Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models for Oracle-based data systems
• Build, maintain, and enhance robust ETL pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery
• Implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and integrity controls to ensure reliable datasets
• Translate business and functional requirements into clear technical specifications and data solutions
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex performance, scalability, and data reliability issues
• Design and manage integrations between on-premise Oracle systems and cloud platforms, especially AWS S3
• Establish documentation standards and ensure accurate, up-to-date technical and system documentation
• Lead code reviews and define best practices for database and data pipeline development
• Plan and execute data migration strategies from legacy platforms to modern cloud-based architectures
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, estimations, and technical design discussions
• Improve system resiliency through automation, testing coverage, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to overall team capability and technical maturity
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience working with Oracle databases, including advanced SQL and PL/SQL development
• Strong expertise in data modeling concepts, schema design, and performance optimization
• Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and pipeline enhancements
• Proven experience implementing data quality frameworks and governance best practices
• Ability to reverse-engineer complex database schemas and understand intricate data relationships
• Strong working knowledge of version control systems such as Git/GitHub
• Experience working within Agile delivery models and contributing to technical leadership discussions
• Solid understanding of investment management or financial data domains such as securities, transactions, holdings, and fund accounting
• Exposure to cloud services (AWS S3, Lambda, Step Functions) and modern data architectures
• Experience with ETL tools, CI/CD pipelines, and Unix shell scripting is an advantage
• Strong communication skills with the ability to document systems and collaborate effectively across teams
• A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership, drive improvements, and mentor others
