EGA Spectro Alloys operates one of the highest efficiency aluminum recycling plants in the United States. Since 1973, we have been providing foundries and die casters in the Midwest and beyond with recycled aluminum alloys.
We offer a full range of AA specification die cast and foundry alloys, as well as lower cost alternatives like Custom Clean Charge, NASAAC and RSI. We service customers regionally and internationally, from one stack at a time to dozens of loads per week.

About the Role
Description
The Scale Operator plays an important role in daily operations by ensuring all incoming and outgoing materials are weighed, recorded, and processed accurately. This position supports production, logistics, and compliance through consistent attention to detail and clear communication.
This role is well suited for someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable working with both people and systems.
What You Will Do
- Operate computerized scales to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing trucks and materials
- Record and log weigh ticket information including material type, weight, vehicle details, and customer information
- Direct drivers and visitors to appropriate loading and unloading areas
- Verify material contents and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers
- Assist with basic customer service questions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe weigh station environment
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Assist with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned

Requirements
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environment preferred
- Strong computer skills with attention to accuracy and detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor conditions
