About the Role

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the welfare, health, and safety of the children.
- Knowing the number of children in the group to which they are assigned.
- Assisting in executing all classroom and outdoor activities.
- Welcomes each child as he/she arrives or leaves.
- Assisting in mealtime activities.
- Bathroom and hand washing supervision.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Assists in cleaning center thoroughly (including cleaning bathrooms and floors)
- Attend in-service meetings and training courses as assigned.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills with teachers, children, parents and other childcare workers.
- Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents.
- Must participate in 20 hours per year of training through workshops, courses, conferences, and all in-service training relating to early childhood education.
- Ensures and maintains the PQ Registry is up to date.
- Submit and pass background check.
- Obtain certification in CPR and First-Aid within 6 months of employment; must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary.
- Patient, compassionate attitude with a friendly, energetic disposition.
