Position Profile: Responsible for meal preparation for Extended Care Residents


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare dinner meals for shelter clients
  • Keep kitchen, dining area and food storage clean, organized and in good condition
  • Follow all state and federal food safety regulations
  • Control and log temperatures for all equipment
  • Stay within established budget for the food service
  • Establish a weekly menu
  • Obtain necessary supplies for the kitchen, including weekly ordering
  • Attend occasional program staff meetings and appropriate trainings
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: 25 hours per week including weekend coverage


Hourly: $21.00 per hour


Physical demands and work environment: Freedom of movement on a regular basis. Operating kitchen equipment in a normal full service kitchen environment. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. May spend extended periods walking, twisting, bending, standing and lifting.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent. A valid Maine state driver’s license is required. A minimum of 1 year of institutional cooking experience. SERVE Safe certified is a plus.
