Project Title: Development of a Framework for Assessment of Organisational Social Impact

What You Will Be Doing

Project summary:

The SUSS Sustainability Committee is seeking a Research Fellow to support a project on assessment of organisational maturity in social impact. The project aims to design and validate a Social Impact Maturity and Effectiveness Framework—a comprehensive tool for assessing how businesses and non-profit organisations in Singapore create and enhance social impact. Using mixed methods (focus groups, surveys, and interviews), the study will develop self-assessment, stakeholder, and independent assessor evaluation instruments that help organisations benchmark and strengthen their social sustainability practices.

The appointment is expected to last one year, subject to satisfactory performance and project needs.

 

Job Scope:

  • Conduct literature reviews on social sustainability and impact measurement frameworks
  • Support data collection, including recruiting and coordinating expert panels, scheduling and conducting focus groups, transcribing qualitative interviews, and administering surveys
  • Identify and liaise with organisations, associations, and companies to participate in the study, including outreach to potential survey respondents
  • Perform data cleaning, analysis, and synthesis
  • Contribute to drafting of report, visualisation of findings, and preparation of conference and journal papers
  • Provide administrative and project management support (tracking milestones, developing interview and participation communication protocols, and IRB correspondence)

Job Requirements

Qualification / Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Honours preferred) or Master’s degree in related field
  • Prior research assistantship experience, especially involving human participants and IRB processes
  • Demonstrated ability in quantitative and qualitative research, including use of SPSS, NVivo, and Qualtrics
  • Strong attention to detail, independence, and reliability
  • Comfort liaising with organisations and external partners
  • Familiarity with social-impact metrics
