GHD’s growing presence in the Wide Bay region offers an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Civil Designer to make a meaningful impact - not only through technical excellence, but also by actively developing and mentoring local team members. In this pivotal role, you’ll help shape the next generation of civil designers while contributing to the success of our projects. The position can be based in either Bundaberg or Hervey Bay.

This exciting position offers a good variety of work and will see you involved with:

  • Steering the successful delivery of projects by setting and upholding high standards of excellence. As technical leader, providing guidance and support to project teams throughout all phases of design and delivery.
  • Cultivating strong client relationships by facilitating meetings, conducting site visits, and leading collaborative discussions to ensure project alignment and success.
  • Designing civil and transport infrastructure including roads, highways, bulk earthworks, drainage and other services.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering design (e.g. Associate Degree, Bachelor of Technology or similar).
  • Significant experience in a design role within an engineering consultancy, where you have successfully delivered designs within the Transport / Civil Infrastructure sectors.
  • Ability to develop solutions from concept level through to detailed design.
  • High proficiency with 12d, AutoCAD, AutoTURN etc. Experience with other related software such as 12d Synergy, Navisworks etc. would be advantageous.
  • Experience with civil design and documentation in accordance with relevant design standards and principles.
  • Strong desire to mentor others and the experience required to offer technical leadership.
