Head of Upper School
To lead students toward a deeper knowledge of God and His truth by teaching with excellence, integrating a biblical worldview, and fostering a Christ-centered learning environment.
- Models commitment to CPA’s mission, vision, and core values.
- Maintains professionalism in all communication and relationships.
- Participates actively in PLCs and school activities.
- Contributes to school life (coaching, mentoring, discipleship, clubs, etc.).
- Engages in continuous professional growth.
- Designs instruction with clear learning goals and aligned assessments.
- Creates meaningful, differentiated learning experiences.
- Maintains updated unit plans; collaborates with Learning Services.
- Organizes classroom environment to support learning.
- Follows school systems and procedures
- Integrates a biblically faithful Christian worldview.
- Uses engaging instructional strategies and appropriate technology.
- Establishes and upholds consistent behavioral expectations.
- Builds positive relationships and a supportive classroom climate.
- Maximizes learning time with clear instruction and smooth transitions.
- Implements schoolwide behavioral systems consistently.
- Uses data to guide instruction and provide support.
- Communicates clear criteria for proficiency and gives timely feedback.
- Uses varied assessments to monitor learning progress.
- Analyzes data to inform instruction and intervention.
- Partners with Learning Services and provides targeted student support.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
- Teaching experience strongly valued.
- Willingness to share Christian testimony and disciple students.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective time management and multitasking.
- Proficiency with required CPA technology platforms.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the day.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergencies; lift up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
