About the Role

Description

Tandem, an ISO 9001:2015 certified mail facility, offers full-service mail and fulfillment, first-class presort, and third-class mail processing. We employ people with disabilities, giving them the opportunity to develop job skills while earning a paycheck. Tandem has several major contracts through SourceAmerica, a national agency charged with developing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. We are currently hiring a Driver to route pick up of customer mail.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report 15 minutes before scheduled route start time to review the route for special instructions, make certain the truck is fueled and clean, gather tubs, trays, sleeves and project material to be returned to customers.
  • Travel the route in accordance with the route schedule.
  • Make certain that mail picked up at each location is in trays properly, sleeved, and identified with a tag, a pickup ticket is obtained for first class mail and a mail tracking document is filled out by the customer for special standard mailings.
  • Record any supply requests by the customer for delivery the next day.
  • Upon arrival back at Tandem, take mail to quality assurance stations, assist in segregating presort mail, metered and unmetered, and special standard mailings so quality assurance can begin initial quality checks.
  • Always secure vehicle against theft when away from it.
  • Check vehicle carefully to ensure no mail is left in it.
  • Afternoon mail delivery to the Post Office as required.
  • Communicate quality/service issues to Site Manager.
  • Works with others as part of the mail processing team as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Costs associated with traffic or moving violations will be the responsibility of the driver.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to practice quality customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Indiana Driver's license
  • Must be able to be insured on company vehicles.
  • High School diploma/GED preferred
