About the Role

Te kōwhiringa | The opportunity
Our Dunedin team is seeking a Class 4 Driver Operator / Civil Labourer to join our utility infrastructure crew delivering water main and gravity pipeline capital works.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving and operating machinery while supporting a crew to safely and efficiently deliver high-quality civil works. You’ll also carry out general labouring and civil duties aligned with your skills and experience, helping ensure projects are completed on time, to specification and in line with Downer’s Zero Harm commitment.

You’re a reliable and safety-focused team player who enjoys hands-on work and contributing to successful project outcomes. You take pride in doing the job right and bring a positive attitude to the worksite every day.

You will bring:

  • A Class 4 driver licence (WTR endorsements an advantage)
  • Civil construction experience preferred, particularly in water, wastewater or stormwater
  • Experience operating plant and machinery within a crew environment
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental best practice
  • Willingness to learn new skills and grow your career with Downer
  • Solid work ethic and dependable approach to work
