Job Description

As a Casual Commis Waiter/Waitress, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and professional service by consistently supporting the Chef de Rang, Managers, and your colleagues. Alongside your team, you will help ensure seamless operations by running food, preparing and delivering drinks and condiments from the dispense bar, servicing and maintaining the breakfast buffet, and keeping all Back of House areas clean and organised. Additionally, you will assist the Chef de Rang as needed and participate in required meetings and training sessions.

  • Make sure to have a friendly, professional, helpful attitude and provide excellent service to customers and colleagues at all times.
  • Provide effective delivery of food from the kitchen to the restaurant station in a timely manner.
  • Provide effective delivery of buffet food and maintain quantity and quality throughout service.
  • Collect and clean equipment for all aspects of mise en place and reset tables.
  • Take accountability for handling restaurant and hotel properties.
  • Ensure all beverages and condiments are prepared and sent out in a timely manner, meeting the restaurant's standards.
  • Ensure all Back of House operating areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Ensure all storage areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Attend briefings before each service period.
  • Have full knowledge of the food and beverage menu of the restaurant.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation of furnishings, and proper setup of the floor and buffet (from breakfast to late diner service). Report any problems and repairs to your manager.
  • Be flexible and carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capacity as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments as required, to meet the demands of business and customer service needs.
  • Inform the Chef de Rang or Managers of guests' comments or requirements if you cannot personally resolve them immediately.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and hygiene at all times, following grooming standards.
  • Ensure proper handover is done at the end of your shift.

Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Flexible availability and physical capability
